Poem : Dwells in Memories

                                                     ' Dwells in Memories'

She twinkled in a paradise park..
Looking into her flowered eye my heart astonishingly sparked..

Moment she stepped to the ground..
Rain showered all around..

Every little rain drop, splashed on her face..
Sought to store forever, wiping from every place..

I enthused you embellish the nature or nature embellishes you..
Seldom seen a loving face as gorgeous flower like you..

Nodding her gently, she asked ‘what is your view..?’
Holdering her face I said, ‘you are as bright as star in the dark, as lovely as firefly, as beautiful as lily.. don’t you have the clue.?

Bowing my head I exhilarated, ‘come in my life and I will care for you’..
She quibbled, ‘I have lovely mom and dad to care, who will get a very few’..

Whilst walking, she picked her feet of the ground, suddenly obstructed by a stone..
I felt, someone has scratched my heart with a sharp stone..

Floated with her for few miles..
In wet narrow lane on colorful tiles..

Without gazing, she unwrapped her dreams like a little baby pink..
Cradling her in that magic moments, I let myself her beauty to drink..

It is my life’s beautiful tapestry..
A pleasure of the moment, made my life a mystery..

In the twilight, their friend started searching..
Wanted to stay her forever as with her presence I felt revitalizing..

waived her hand by turning back,
There upon with her distance, I felt a mild heart attack..

From one end to another end, I miss you in my every breathe..
Can someone take me to ocean’s beneath..

Poem : Call for Adorable

Surrounded by your friends, you were unaware..
Someone in the crowd who cared..

I didn’t want you to go as I felt you are known..
You pretended as I am unknown..

I am thankful to almighty, who shaped you perfectly..
I urge you to think twice, may you change your decision probably..

Love the spaces you walked through..
Pray to god that all your wish may come true..

Asked the Sun, Stars and moon, she needs your care..
As, I cannot take her everywhere..

Devoted to you with the best of my intention..
Your judgment is clouded with suspicion and aggression..

Come out from the state of neutrality..
My exquisiteness for you is so much that I forgot my responsibility..

Where I will go and find the jury..
How I will explain my heart’s injury..

You are absolute in my eyes and I cannot see further..
How much you want me to suffer..

My affection should not be considered as flirtation..
It is hard for me to resist the temptation..

I will love your domination and imposition..
Promise to hold your hand, to walk with you to follow your ambition..

Come in my life and do me a favor..
I will be happy to see you, your cutest face forever..

Poem: A colourful drop in colourless oyster

********************************************************************************
‘ A colorful drop in colorless oyster’

I am a little pretty – witty angel, came down to earth..

To ride on a sea wave and to walk along with sand..

My ‘mama’ blessed me with everything..

But, today I felt, like I have nothing..

I took handful of sand in my soft- slight hand..
Asked, ‘will you be mine forever’..

Grain of the sand smiled and slipped away, ourightly swept by the air..

I walked along the bank of sea, found a dirty shell..

I picked and clutched so intensely, found a beautiful pearl..

I was so happy, felt I found myself again and got the wings to fly..

I promised, to take wherever I go and never live alone..

Pearl said ‘I am lucky to find you and you are precious to me than any other angel’..

Poem: Precious to me

                                                                ‘Precious to me’
She was walking in the gallary of our college..

It was so nice that I wanted to capture the footage..

I looked at her eye, she has lost someone..

Seemed, she wanted to hold it, but swiftly became other’s obession..

Left her alone in an unending street..

I though to hold her hand, to release her pain..

I wanted her fly again like a butterfly..

To keep her sprit like a mountain high..

I spoke to her entire night..

She asked me to wait till the morning bright..

Her smiling face is a precious gift for me..

Nothing I felt more important, if she was inclined to me..

All of a sudden, I felt her so near..

Happy to think, my fate too have emotion and fear..

Now she is gone..

I pray to God, she might have found ‘that’ someone..

Who may cherish her like ‘none’..

Article: Fundamental Right to Marriage

Going in line with the RTI (Right to Information) and RTE (Right to Education), RTM (Right to Marriage) ‘irrespective of caste, class and religion’ should also be made a right duly enshrined in the Constitution. This is advocated not on the grounds of modernity but for bringing about a socio-cultural transformation in our society which is still today engrossed in the deep rooted beliefs of caste and class prejudices. Today’s caste based rigid patriarchic system seldom allows for freedom of marriage based on individual’s personal and the ‘right’ choice. This right choice, however, may not be the best choice, but the young couples should be free enough to exercise their will of who they want to stay with for the rest of their lives irrespective of caste, class and religion. Here, only duty of the modern liberal democratic state should be to allow individuals to exercise their freedom of choice and their will in the best possible manner. In this regard, suggestion of the National Commission for Women of making ‘Right to Marriage’ a fundamental right is a welcome step.
All the cases of honour killing and the draconian law being administered by Khap Panchayats entails to be completely prohibited. These incidents are reflective of the deep rooted social malaise in our society. The debate about reforming the Hindu Marriage Act for accommodating the demands of the Khap Panchayats seems to be completely irrational. When on the one hand we are trudging towards a highly liberated world economy and talk about the establishment of a World State, our minds need to be decolonized of the prejudices based on caste, class and gender. Freedom to exercise our choice of marriage is a concern of human rights and in fact, is fundamental to our basic existence.
In the name of the protecting the honour of the family, no one has got the ‘right to kill’ the other person. If we are talking about the concept of the ‘Law of the Father’, it takes us to the system of traditional patriarchy prevalent in feudal societies. In fact, it reminds us of the Hobbesian ‘state of nature’ which had no scope for justice and rationality.
The matter becomes worse in case of disabled women who is traumatized, victimized and socially constricted. Their disability is considered as a blot on their feminity and sexuality. Thus, they are easily vulnerable to physical and domestic violence after marriage. They are forced to marry a person who is hardly a suitable match for them because of their physical impairment.
Rise in the cases of honour killing and alleged suicides in the name of brotherhood and honour exemplifies the weakness and inability of our democratically elected bodies at the local level and inefficiency of our police and judicial system. Generally, the verdicts of the Khap Panchayat are gender biased where more concessions and liberal punishments are given to the male culprits as compared to their female counterparts who are punished stringently.
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), “Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry……Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.” This by logic implies that nobody should force a person to marry; neither the intending couple should be stigmatized, compelled or traumatized for marrying someone of their choice. The UDHR further states that, “The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.”. This, if understood properly calls for the obligation of the government of the country to protect the family and its members.
Thus, in the modern liberal mass democracies where the ideals of justice, equality, liberty, rationality enjoys a pre-eminent position, the law makers must ponder over making the ‘Right to Marriage’ irrespective of caste, class and religion a fundamental right.
